America is a greatly divided nation. We see this in our elections, our social media, and even around our dinner tables. The differences between Democrats and Republicans, progressives and conservatives, which once existed primarily in the background, now manifest themselves front and center. Our political discourse has become increasingly hostile and tribalistic. There no longer seems to be a public square that can accommodate honest, thoughtful discussions on issues of politics and public policy.

At “Beyond the Talking Points”, AM 560 will create an opportunity for a real conversation between two deep thinkers in the political arena in which serious and substantive discussion can occur. What is the real nature of the differences between Democrats and Republicans? Does any room exist for common ground? Is it even possible to have dialogue?

Dan Proft will sit down with Juan Williams for an honest conversation about the issues that divide them, divide us, and divide America.

On the right, Dan Proft brings decades of experience as a political strategist and pundit in the state of Illinois, including a run for governor in 2010. As the co-host of “Chicago’s Morning Answer” on AM 560, Proft is one of the most-respected conservative minds in the Midwest.
On the left, Juan Williams serves as a senior political analyst, appearing across FOX News Channel’s (FNC) daytime and primetime programming including Special Report with Bret Baier and FOX News Sunday. He joined the network as a contributor in 1997. During his tenure at the network, Williams also served as a co-host on FNC’s The Five, a roundtable ensemble of FNC personalities who discuss, debate and even debunk the hot news stories, controversies and issues of the day. Prior to joining the network, he spent more than 10-years with NPR, where he served as a senior national correspondent and news analyst. Previously, Williams spent 23 years at The Washington Post. During his tenure there, he covered every major political campaign from 1980 to 2000 as a national correspondent and a political columnist.

These two will tackle the big issues facing our country, face-to-face, with no spin, no filters, and with no talking points. This will be an evening of sharp and in-depth political dialogue between two respected political figures, unseen anywhere else in American politics or media. In the end, only the strongest ideas will stand, as Dan Proft and Juan Williams go Beyond the Talking Points.
