A GOP Senate resolution supporting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — and knocking Democrats’ call to "abolish" it — was blocked by the left on Wednesday shortly after a similar measure was approved by the House.

The Hill reports the resolution supporting ICE was brought by GOP Senators, who called it “outrageous and irresponsible” for progressive’s to call for abolishing “one of our country's most critical security measures.”

But Democrats deflected and instead asked for consent to pass legislation which promises a policy of catch-and-release for nearly all illegal immigrants who bring their children over the border.

House Republicans passed their own resolution supporting ICE in a 244-35 vote.
