The first day of Trump's second impeachment trial took place yesterday with many observers questioning the strategy of Bruce Castor, one of former President Trump's defense lawyers.

"I have no idea what he's doing," Alan Dershowitz said on Newsmax, discussing the strategy of Trump's defense attorney, Bruce Castor. "The American people are entitled to an argument," he said adding, "It's not the kind of argument I would have made."

Castor is only one of Trump's defense attorneys but his speech was poorly-received by some of Trump's allies.

Dershowitz previously defended President Trump as a member of the defense team during Trump's first impeachment trial, which was held one year ago.

Fox News personalities Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham were also disappointed in Castor's defense of Trump, with Ingraham calling it "terrible."

Politico.com also reported that the former president was disappointed in his team's strategy.
