CHICAGO — Many Chicago-area high school students have needed to pick up jobs amid the pandemic as essential workers, meanwhile also trying to complete their studies through remote learning. According to the Chicago Tribune, many of these these teens picked up jobs to help out their parents who lost their jobs or means of income, or are just trying to save money. As they endure long work hours, they come home to school responsibilities. Some say learning without the structure of school has been more difficult.
