Northern Ill. man sentenced in deaths of wife, sister-in-law

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. — A northern Illinois man has been sentenced to 65 years in prison after pleading guilty in the 2017 shooting deaths of his wife and her teenage sister. Ryan Yarber of Crystal Lake was sentenced on Friday in McHenry County after pleading guilty to second-degree murder and reckless discharge of a firearm in the deaths of his wife Allania Yarber and her 15-year-old sister, Anniyah Reynolds. Garber told authorities he shot the two after a violent confrontation in which the teen tried to stab him. The (Crystal Lake) Northwest Herald reports that the 34-year-old Yarber could be eligible for release from prison after 31 years.
