CHICAGO (AP) — A Chicago man has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of two men killed during a weekend that saw six other people murdered in the city. Cook County prosecutors did not provide the motive for the shooting during Ladelle Carpenter’s bond hearing on Wednesday. Chicago police say Quincy Ferguson and Darren Sims, both 28, were shot several times Sunday as they sat in an SUV parked on the city’s West Side. Prosecutors say private surveillance cameras captured the 24-year-old Carpenter and an unidentified man approaching the SUV Sims and Ferguson were sitting in, opening the doors and firing shots into the vehicle. Prosecutors say Carpenter’s face was clear in surveillance video.
