With big act to follow, Valentine takes over at Loyola

CHICAGO (AP) — Drew Valentine has quite an act to follow as he takes over as Loyola Chicago's coach. The Ramblers rose to prominence over the past decade under Porter Moser with a Final Four run and Sweet 16 appearance. With Moser taking the Oklahoma job, Valentine gets his chance to lead the program. At 29, he's taking over after four years as an assistant at Loyola. Valentine says Moser told him to do things “your way” and “do it with confidence and conviction.”
