WEST BRANCH, IA / ACCESS Newswire / June 15, 2026 / Starting August 6, 2026, visitors from across the nation will have the opportunity to experience one of America's most significant presidential sites in an entirely new way as the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum welcomes guests to a transformed museum experience designed for a new generation.

The reopening marks the culmination of a multi-year renovation project that reimagines how the story of Herbert Hoover is told moving beyond familiar headlines to explore the remarkable life of a humanitarian, engineer, public servant, and President whose influence reached far beyond the Oval Office.

The new museum experience invites visitors to engage with Hoover's story through immersive exhibits, modern technology, interactive learning opportunities, and compelling historical artifacts that place his life and legacy within the broader story of America.

"Many Americans know Herbert Hoover's name, but few know the full scope of his contributions to our nation and the world," said Mundi McCarty, President and CEO of the Hoover Presidential Foundation. "This reopening offers visitors the opportunity to discover a more complete picture of Hoover, a man whose humanitarian efforts helped save millions of lives, whose commitment to public service shaped generations, and whose story remains deeply relevant today."

The renovation reflects a shared commitment by the National Archives and Records Administration, the Hoover Presidential Foundation, and numerous supporters who have invested in preserving and enhancing one of the nation's premier historical destinations.

Located in Hoover's hometown of West Branch, Iowa, the campus includes the presidential museum, presidential library archives, Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, the Hoover birthplace cottage, and the final resting place of Herbert and Lou Henry Hoover.

The reopening arrives at a pivotal moment as America approaches its 250th anniversary, creating an opportunity for visitors to reflect on the leaders, innovators, and citizens who helped shape the nation's history.

"The story told here is larger than a presidency," McCarty said. "It is a story of service, resilience, leadership, and the belief that one individual can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We believe visitors will leave inspired not only by history, but by the enduring values Hoover represented."

The Hoover Presidential Foundation encourages travelers, history enthusiasts, educators, students, and families to make plans to experience the newly renovated museum and explore the historic campus in West Branch.
