MercyMe speaks backstage at the 2026 K-LOVE Fan Awards about the journey that has kept the band together for more than three decades.

Bart Millard reflects on a season when the band questioned whether they wanted to continue, and how a deeper understanding of identity in Christ, grace and God’s approval helped them fall in love with music all over again. The band shares how that renewed perspective shaped their message and helped them keep going with joy.

MercyMe also talks about the blessing of seeing multiple generations connect with their music, from longtime fans to their children and grandchildren. After 32 years together, the group says friendship, family and a shared calling have been key to their longevity.

They also offer encouragement to younger artists and worship leaders, reminding them not to treat their current season as a stepping stone, but as a God-given opportunity to share the gospel wherever they are.
