After months of trying to work with difficult left-wing Democrats in California, President Trump is going ahead with nominating three lawyers to the historically liberal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, much to the objection of California's two senators.

Presidents traditionally work with senators from judicial nominees' home state to put forward judicial picks, seeking what's known as a "blue slip.”

But Democrats Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris refused to negotiate on Trump’s nominee list, calling them controversial.  In a statement from Feinstein, she complained that she should have been consulted.

Harris claimed Trump continues packing the courts with "partisan judges who will blindly support the president's agenda."
