Argentina tops Switzerland and England beats Norway in World Cup quarterfinals, in photos

Lionel Messi's World Cup scoring streak ended at nine games, but he still led defending champion Argentina to the semifinals. Julian Alvarez scored the go-ahead goal in extra time and Messi assisted on Argentina's first goal in a 3-1 win over Switzerland on Saturday night in Kansas City, Missouri. England advanced to the semifinals earlier Saturday, getting two goals from Jude Bellingham to beat Norway 2-1 in Miami Gardens, Florida.
